Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a scam?
We understand why you may be skeptical about an unexpected call regarding money associated with a property. FOUND researches publicly available property, auction, county, and court records before contacting potential claimants. We explain what we found and provide information you can independently verify with the appropriate public office. If you choose to proceed, your claim is submitted to independent legal counsel for legal review and claim processing through recovery.
Why is FOUND contacting me?
We identified public records indicating that funds may be associated with a property in which you may have an interest. Our role is to notify potential claimants, explain what we found, and help them understand their options for pursuing recovery.
How do I know the funds are really there?
FOUND reviews available public auction, property, county, and court records before contacting you. We will provide information about the property and sale so you can independently verify the information with the appropriate county, court, or public office.
Can I claim the funds myself?
Yes. You are not required to hire FOUND or any other recovery service. Some people choose professional assistance because they prefer help understanding the process, gathering required documentation, addressing potential complications, and coordinating the recovery process from beginning to end.
What does FOUND do for me?
FOUND researches and reviews the available records, explains what we have identified, and helps coordinate the recovery process. If you choose to proceed, we assist with the necessary documentation and coordinate the matter through attorney review and processing while keeping you informed along the way.
How much does FOUND charge?
FOUNDÂ operates on a contingency fee based on the amount recovered. There are no upfront costs, and you will know the exact fee before deciding whether to proceed. The fee and terms are clearly disclosed and agreed to in writing before services begin. Attorney fees and costs are included within the agreed fee, and if no funds are recovered, no fee is owed.
How long does the recovery process take?
Every claim is different. Timing can depend on the county or court, required documentation, liens, competing claims, probate or estate issues, and government or court processing times. We will explain what to expect based on your particular claim and keep you informed as the recovery process progresses.
The documents required depend on the circumstances of the claim. They may include identification, proof of ownership or relationship to the former owner, estate or probate documents, or other records needed to support the claim. FOUND will explain what is needed based on your particular situation.
What documents will I need?
No. FOUND is a private recovery service and a trade name of Yazoo Legacy LLC. FOUND is not a government agency or law firm and does not provide legal advice. When a claim moves forward, the matter is submitted to independent legal counsel for review and processing.
Is FOUND a government agency or law firm?
What happens after I decide to move forward?
FOUND will walk you through the Agreement of Interest and any required documentation and answer your questions before anything proceeds. Once the necessary documents are completed, the matter is submitted to an attorney for legal review and claim processing. FOUND remains involved throughout the process, coordinates communication, and keeps you informed through recovery.
